Google has recently launched its ‘Identity Check’ feature to protect user privacy. It is Google’s new theft protection feature for Android devices. It has been introduced to verify your identity through biometric checks whether it’s actually you or someone suspicious. It contains level 3 biometric protection to your android device. Level 3 biometric contains on-screen fingerprints and high face detection technology.

This feature actually works when an unknown person has your phone’s access and knows your phone’s password. When a person tries to open your phone, the system will ask him to authenticate first through extra biometric security such as Face Recognition or Fingerprints.

It will help to protect your smartphone specially when it is lost or stolen. If your phone is lost, the receiver will need to pass the biometric authentications to unlock the device. It also allows you to include more trusted locations like home, office, etc. It will specifically avoid your device being in an inappropriate location. So, make sure you must enable this feature in your smartphone as soon as possible.

Google’s ‘Identity Check’ feature can be enabled in your smartphone by following the below steps:

  4. Click on ‘All Services’ and select ‘Theft Protection’.

After following the above steps, also make sure you update ‘Find My Device’ App from the Google Play Store to use seamless service of this feature.

Google launched ‘Identity Check’ feature has packed your phone with level-3 biometric protection especially in unfamiliar conditions. However, this feature is currently released for some Google Pixel devices and Samsung Galaxy phones which support Android 15. It will be available later for the other Android phones worldwide.
